Artwork by Steve Bledsoe

I feel I’ve had a special connection with nature from an early age. It began on family vacations while camping in the mountains of the High Sierras and deserts of California. I’ve been lucky to be able to spend most of my life living and working outdoors.

As a young man I spent my summers working construction around Lake Mead, Arizona. That eventually opened the door for a career in river guiding on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. For 36 years I was able to sketch the landscape, wildlife and people on two to three week rafting trips.

I now devote my time to my art and the pursuit of capturing the spirit, energy and personality of my subjects in landscapes and portraits, using oil on canvas, charcoal and colored pencil on paper.

My works are in collections both nationally and internationally in Europe and South America.
